About the Event

Hard to believe it has been more than a year since our last Pure Acoustic showcase. It is high time we do it again with four different bands - John Dubuc & The Guilty Pleasures, Whiskey For Kids, Nasty Bingo, and Vivian - all playing together, trading songs, with zero amplification. That's right, No Mics, No Amps - just the power of their voices and instruments.

Needless to say, this will be a listening show, and you will hear their music in a whole new way.

About the bands:

John Dubuc & The Guilty Pleasures describe themselves this way, "Woody Guthrie joins The Kinks to cover Some Girls. That'll get you in the general sonic zipcode." If that doesn't intrigue you, I'm not certain what will...

Whiskey For Kids - the name alone should get you in the door. WFK is a high energy band that features traditional instrumentation with a Mad Dogs and Englishmen mentality.

Nasty Bingo - with wide ranging influences, NB classes their music as "Folkadelia." You might recognize several of the members from "Such A Night: The Last Waltz Live."

Vivian is a quartet that plays acoustic, vocal-driven music from multiple eras and genres, including folk, country (the real country), Americana -- pretty much anything they like and can jam into their format. Expect interpretations, not covers. They even write their own songs when no one has thought of them yet.

Note this is an early show - doors open at 8pm and music starts at 9 - and since the bands are trading songs, there will be no waiting to see your favorites!

Mark your calendars and come be part of this unique and grand event and bring a friend!

Advance tickets on sale this week.
